
Addictions and substance abuse
Addictions and substance abuse occur when someone is experiencing difficulties with alcohol, other drugs, or activities such as gambling, sex, internet use, eating, or social media.

Anxiety
When the symptoms of anxiety are persistent and severe and start causing distress and negatively affects a person's life, they may be experiencing an anxiety disorder.

Bipolar
Bipolar (previously called ‘manic depression’) is a mental health condition that causes our moods to fluctuate for days, weeks and sometimes months.

Borderline personality disorder
Borderline Personality Disorder is a mental health condition which causes a person’s feelings towards themselves and others to fluctuate between emotional extremes.

Depression
Experiences of depression can significantly affect the way someone feels, causing a persistent lowering of mood and experience other physical and psychological symptoms that can interfere with their life.

Eating disorders
An eating disorder is a mental health condition where a person has developed an unhealthy preoccupation with food or their body weight or shape.

Narcissistic personality disorder
When someone is so self-focused that their relationships and working life begin to deteriorate, they may be experiencing something called narcissistic personality disorder.

Obsessive-compulsive (OCD)
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder that has two kinds of symptoms: obsessions and compulsions.

Personality conditions
A personality disorder affects a person's sense of self, their relationships with others and how they express their emotions. Common sub-types are borderline, narcissistic, antisocial, obsessive-compulsive, paranoid, or schizotypal personality disorder.

Post-Traumatic Stress
People who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic or terrifying event such as bullying, domestic violence or sexual abuse, are often diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder

Psychosis
If someone is struggling to tell what's real and what's not, or they're seeing or hearing things that aren’t really there, they may be experiencing psychosis.

Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is medical condition that affects the normal functioning of the brain, interfering with a person’s ability to think, feel and act.

Stress
Stress is the feeling of being overwhelmed. Feeling a little bit stressed is not always a bad thing, but too much of it can have a negative impact on our physical and mental health.

Trauma
Trauma can happen following a very frightening or upsetting experience. The traumatic event may involve feeling significantly threatened physically or psychologically, or both.
